Senior Process Engineer

Established in 1918, this company has been dedicated to developing Carbon products that are indispensable to various industries as a comprehensive carbon manufacturer. Over the years have have expanded into multiple industries and excelled with rapid growth. Currently they manufacture and sell carbon black, praphite electrodes, fine carbon, friction materials, industrial furnances and related products.

Role Purpose:

The Senior Process Engineer is responsible for process engineering activities in support of the carbon black manufacturing.

Education and Experience:

  • BS Chemical Engineering.

  • 7 years of related expereince in the following:

    • Carbon black plant engineering 3 to 5 years​.

    • Operation and troubleshooting of bulk materials handling equipment.

    • Operation and troubleshooting of pneumatic conveying systems.

    • Design and operation of high temperature refractory lined equipment.

  • ​Plant Co-Gen experience a plus.

Skills and Responsibility:

  • Product development.

  • Product quality improvement.

  • Engineering for plant growth.

  • Engineering for equipment upgrades and additions.

  • Plant energy surveys and plans to reduce energy usage.

  • Process trouble shooting to reduce downtime.

  • Process hazards review.

  • Support plant and co-gen Safety and Environmental compliance programs, reporting and emission reduction programs. Capable of performing process safety reviews Haz Ops.

  • Monitor (with operation group), Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s, Standard Operating Conditions, SOC’s and Statistical Process Control, SPC procedures.

  • Ensure all plant process improvements and projects conform to TCCB Standard Project Management Procedures and Designs.

  • Ensure all Plant and Co-Gen System drawings and technical data is up to date and properly organized for easy access and use.

  • Perform Energy surveys and reduction projects including Co-Gen process.

  • Support process status, improvements, direction to the Corporate Operations group management

  • Support Operations department training programs for new and modified processes..

  • Monitor Plant Quality and lead projects associated with improving Quality CPK and off spec / scrap reduction projects.

  • Understand and lead Continuous Improvement Process and use of standard process improvement tools.
