THE BENEFIT OF WORKING WITH A RECRUITER

Submitting a resume to a position on a job board means that you have delegated the task of selling your skills, character and experience to a document with bullet points. A recruiter gets to you know you through conversations (we make a couple hundred thousand of those per year), presents opportunities to you, presents you directly to the hiring manager and helps you transition from one career to the next. The best positions are very seldom advertised, so if you want to hear about the best positions, work with a recruiter.

OUR SERVICE TO YOU

When people hear that you are a recruiter they often want to send you their or a friend's resume so that you can find them a job. You often hear complaints from people that they sent their resume in but never heard anything. On this page we will try to explain what we do and maybe shed some light on the process.

WHO PAYS US

We earn a fee from companies when a candidate accepts a position and starts at that company. Our fees are a percentage of the candidates annual compensation. The fee is only payable when the candidate starts and we guarantee the placement for a period.

WHAT IS THE NATURE OF A SEARCH?

"Will you find him a job?" is a frequently received question. The assumption here is that we can place someone into a company. The truth is that recruiters work on requirements or vacancies. We get these from our clients and then look for candidates to fill that requirement, thus the demand is driven from the client side, we can not normally just place someone. There is an occasion where we attempt to place people. This will be discussed below.

WHEN DO WE FIND PEOPLE JOBS?

In each niche there are candidates that are highly sort after, either due to the fact that they have a scarce skill or that they have achieved a lot in their career. These are candidates that clients want to meet and we will actively present them to clients in their industry with the intention of setting up meetings between the two parties. This is when demand in our industry is driven from the candidate side.

WHAT IS A NICHE OR A DESK?

In order for us to make a difference and out compete other recruiters, each recruiter that works for us works a specific niche. For example we have a recruiter who focusses purely on technical services and metallurgy in the mining industry. We have another recruiter who focusses on legal compliance. The result of this focus is that we can not help everyone. We mention this because if you do not fall within our target market you will be disappointed with us.

WHAT IS THE BENEFIT OF AN AGENT?

Submitting a resume to a position on a job board means that you have delegated the task of selling your skills, character and experience to a document with bullet points. An agent gets to you know you through conversations (we make a couple hundred thousand of those per year), presents opportunities to you, presents you directly to the hiring manager and helps you transition from one career to the next. The best positions are very seldom advertised, a good agent is working those.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING THE PROCESS?

Normally your resume will lie in a HR's inbox with the other resumes trying to jump off the page and convince a screener to short-list you for submission to the hiring manager. The alternative is us presenting opportunities to you that we think you may be interested in. If we excite you with a vacancy we then phone the hiring manager, explaining to him in a conversation why we think he should see you. Should you and the hiring manager want to work together we facilitate the offer, your resignation and your induction. In short from us you should expect a trusted advisor who can see you through one of the most important processes in your life.
